DMZ TOUR (De-Militarized Zone) Between N. and S. Korea

This was Liji after our 8.5 mile bike ride in 45 minutes at 5 am. to the base. If you look close you can see the sweat dripping off his nose. He was tired!

And this is me. No sweat. Feeling just great. Man I'm good. ok, so I was a little tired.

We are trying to push N. and S. Korea back together.

Getting Briefed at the beginning of our tour.

Map showing right where we will be going. We will be surrounded at one point by N. Korea on 3 sides. Scary!

Line outside the Conference building we are in showing to the right South Korea and to the Left North Korean land.

Posing with one S. Korean guard. The guard is straddling the Line between North and South Korea. Christina is on the South Korean side, and Liji is on the North Korean side.

Inside the conference room that is half on the South side and half on the North side. So yes Liji and I were officially in North Korea. This guard is guarding the door out to North Korea.

North Korean Building just across the way.

North Korean post just across from us. Watching us the whole time we were there. So we couldn't do any pointing or anything that could be seen as an offensive gesture. Otherwise they might attack. Although they did say that out the blue building that is on the right of the picture below the North Korean guards will make offensive gestures all the time out the window and if we saw them doing this to just ignore it.
The blue building directly behind us with the brown sign in front is the Conference Room that we were able to go inside of.

South Korean solder watching North Korean side.

This is in North Korea and the guide said it is a fake town. Most of the buildings have no backs and only enough people live there to raise the flag each day and stand as lookout.

A North Korean lookout post. The military guide said North Korean militia were watching us the whole tour.

Tonz of Birds. People don't live in this area so there is a lot of wildlife. It was actually quite beautiful.

This is called The Bridge of No Return. Just on the other side lies North Korea. I think they said the last person to cross this bridge was in 1968 and they were captured or just killed I'm not sure now.

This was the badges we wore, as you can see World Peace is their symbol or goal.

This is a man making small buscuit things with this machine in an open market.

Here is a couple cooking squid and octopus directly on hot coals.

If you look close you can see there there are small chunks of french fries in this batter. So it's a hot dog and french fries in one. Smart

As we were riding our bikes home in the pouring rain after midnight Liji suddenly jumps off his bike, reaches his hand down and snatches up a big bullfrog. It scared me enough to scream. I wanted a picture of it but we couldn't get the camera out in the rain, so we then found the overhanging of this building to get my hands dry under and get the camera out to take a picture

Whoa! Good pictures!

That french fry hot dog thing is brilliant.

And I like what you've done to the blog; it's much prettier.
