We have been in Korea for one month, I don’t know how fast the time is passing back in the States, but to us, it seems like we just got here last week. Our work week goes by really fast. Mostly because we have our library day on Wednesday; and because Thursday and Friday are our easiest days of the week. The weekends always go by fast, Saturday because we always have lots of exploring to do, and Sunday because we go to church all day.
This past week we had a health examination, it was basically a physical. Our principal told us that every employer has to have their employees screened within 60 days of the hire date. We also needed the physical to get our “Foreigner” card. I guess every foreigner has to have a special ID to move about the country. And we need it to open a bank account. We can’t wait to get a bank account; we are tired of carrying around wads of cash. The largest bill printed in S. Korea is 10,000 Won. That sounds big but, 10,000 W is only about $8.20. So we have had to carry around a lot of bills, which is very tiresome.
This morning we talked with my favorite mission companion, Mark MacPherson, form Australia. We are going to visit him and his family over our Christmas break. We are very excited about that.
